LinkedIn profile maintenance with Business Development

Client
The client is professionally involved in business development as a business owner and consultant. He comes from the fields of project management and business analysis, with a solid background in engineering and business. His expertise spans strategic planning, effective project management, and in-depth business analysis, providing the skills to form and lead teams to success.
The Challenge
In the beginning, Client X barely used his LinkedIn profile, being rather inactive on the professional network. His profile had about 450 connections and was far from opinion leader status or a source of expert content. The lack of regular posts and activity limited the reach of the profile and made it difficult to build an engaged audience. The profile required change as Client X was taking a new step in his career path, focusing primarily on his personal business, which he was developing. The goals we set were:
- Increase profile activity and post content regularly in the first 3-4 months.
- Expand the network of connections to at least 3,000 within the first 12 months.
- Build opinion leader status and attract an engaged audience.
- Participation in media or events as a result of our work on his LinkedIn profile.
- Finding at least 1 customer within the first 12 months.
The approach
After the initial detailed analysis of the main gaps that were present and the study of what our main competitors were doing, we summarised the main steps we had to take:
Profile optimization
We have redesigned the profile to be more attractive and informative. We've updated the experience and skills information, and included industry-related keywords to increase visibility in searches.
Content creation
We began creating diverse and engaging content in Bulgarian, including expert materials and infographics that reflect the client's expertise. The posts were targeted to the audience's interests and highlighted the uniqueness of the services offered, which increased interaction with followers.
Building a strategy
We developed a clear content strategy that includes target audiences, post topics and scheduled posts. The strategy focuses on establishing authority and engagement through consistency and variety in content.
Lack of marketability
We integrated clear calls to action to highlight the benefits as well as provide solutions to customer problems that would encourage sales.

We aimed to diversify the content by combining different formats:
Surveys
We used surveys to engage the audience and gather feedback on their concerns. Through this format, we gained insight into our followers' preferences and needs, allowing us to tailor our content to their interests.
Images
We have integrated visual elements, such as images and graphics, which attract attention and facilitate the perception of information. Visualizing content not only makes it more appealing, but also helps convey messages more clearly and effectively. The main approach that was used was storytelling or 'storytelling-a'.
Expert materials
We created expert materials, including business analysis software, free guides that demonstrated our industry expertise. These resources not only added value to the audience, but also established our status as an authoritative source of information and knowledge in the field.
This mix was designed to keep the content engaging and varied, ensuring sustained interest and interaction from our audience.

It took less than six months to exceed the previously set targets.
