How do I write a recommendation on LinkedIn?
Everyone loves to get recommendations, right? I would define a recommendation as a little booster to our sense of success and our pride. Pride in this case is not a bad thing, quite the opposite in fact, it means you care and LinkedIn encourages you to be proud.
In addition to getting recommendations, it is also quite important to give recommendations. To a colleague, a freelancer, a collaborator, a one-time contractor and a bunch of other people you've worked together with and have something positive to share about your experience with them.
Besides writing or word of mouth, LinkedIn recommendations are an even more awesome way to support someone. That's why the platform has created a separate section on your profile where you can pin the recommendations you've received or leave one for someone.
There are a few different ways to leave a recommendation for someone and if you follow the steps below, you should successfully start leaving recommendations on LinkedIn. Before I walk you through the action steps, it's important to note that you can only give recommendations to people who are your 1st connection.

How do I ask for a recommendation on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn also allows you to request a recommendation from someone. In case someone has requested a recommendation from you, you will receive a direct message from them and a link that will take you to the field to complete.
Make sure you fill out your relationship with the specific person correctly and then be as comprehensive as possible and share all of your impressions of working together. Even if you mess up or forget something, you can go back afterwards and edit it.
